Carol Myers

Carol Myers is no stranger to cancer. As the wife of 10-term Indiana Congressman John Myers, she was treated for two different cancers while living in our nation’s capital. In the mid-1990s, their family’s experience with cancer led Congressman Myers to generate federal funding to build both a patient treatment facility and a four-story research building for the IU Simon Cancer Center so that Hoosiers would have access to the most advanced diagnostic and treatment opportunities close to home. Now retired and living in Indiana, Carol has been diagnosed and treated two more times for new cancers. Cancer—then and now—hasn’t dimmed her smile.

“I just do what needs to be done,” Carol says. “Cancer doesn’t slow me down.”
