Hanna's work challenges consolidation approach in clinical practice for stage III lung cancerThe addition of docetaxel to both concurrent chest radiation and a regimen of two chemotherapy drugs, cisplatin and etoposide, does not significantly improve survival for patients with inoperable stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and does add significant toxicity. The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer sets record: more than $1 million raised for breast cancerThe 14th annual Vera Bradley Classic raised $1,045,250 during a women’s golf and tennis tournament, held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on June 2-4. More than 600 golf and tennis players and 300 volunteers came together to have fun, increase breast cancer awareness and raise funds for research on behalf of the Vera Bradley Foundation. Informatics professor to lead proteomics research teamUsing high-speed computer networks and Indiana University's supercomputer, a team of researchers from IU and Purdue University will be contributing to an open-source bioinformatics software platform development project in proteomics (the study of the structure and function of proteins), thanks to a $25,000 bioinformatics research award from the Canary Foundation.
