ITRAC Receives Funding from Walther Cancer InstituteThe Indiana University Cancer Center’s Translational Research Acceleration Collaboration (ITRAC) received a $100,000 grant from the Walther Cancer Institute. Colon Cancer Screening: Going "Back To The Future"?Colon cancer screening rates continue to lag behind those for breast and cervical cancer. In an editorial in the Feb. 20 print edition of the Annals of Internal Medicine, Indiana University School of Medicine gastroenterologist and Regenstrief Institute, Inc. researcher Thomas Imperiale, M.D., writes that to increase screening rates for colorectal cancers, we need more convenient and less invasive screening tests. Mayo Returns to Indiana University after Stint at Case Comprehensive Cancer CenterLindsey D. Mayo, Ph.D., a former IU School of Medicine postdoctoral research fellow, has returned to the school as assistant professor for Wells Center for Pediatric Research. He has also joined the Indiana University Cancer Center’s Experimental and Developmental Therapeutics Program. CompleteLife Hosts Lilly Oncology on CanvasThe CompleteLife Program of the Indiana University Cancer Center is proud to host 200 selected pieces of artwork from the 2006 Lilly Oncology on Canvas: Expressions of a Cancer Journey International Art Competition and Exhibition. This month-long exhibit is open to the public, free of charge. Many of this year’s winning entries will be on display, including the global exhibition winner, the first place U.S. winner and entries from the 51 Indiana residents who entered the competition.
