Hepatitis C/HIV
If you received blood products (blood and/or platelets) prior to 1986, you should be screened for HIV. You should be screened for Hepatitis C if you received blood products prior to 1993. Blood products prior to these dates were not accurately screened for HIV and Hepatitis C. Blood products are currently screened for such diseases prior to transplantation to assure patient safety.
