Patient Care Facilities
IU Simon Cancer Center offers an extraordinary range of services in several facilities located on the IU School of Medicine campus in downtown Indianapolis.
Most of our support services and some of our treatment services such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy are provided as outpatients rather than requiring that patients are hospitalized. This occurs in the Indiana Cancer Pavilion for adult cancer patients and Riley Outpatient Center (ROC) for pediatric patients.
For many cancer patients, treatment requires a hospital stay. Inpatient services occur in Indiana University Hospital for adult patients and Riley Children’s Cancer Center for pediatric patients. Planned new construction is also under way that will expand the amount of space devoted to cancer patient care.
IU Simon Cancer Center physicians provide cancer care at two additional medical facilities affiliated with the IU School of Medicine:
- Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC), a tertiary care facility serving Indiana veterans.
- Wishard Health Services, a community health system with special emphasis on the vulnerable populations of Marion County in Indianapolis.
