CompleteLife Billing and Cancellation Procedures
As with other healthcare services, there is a fee for psychological and psychiatric services. Billing will depend on session length and services offered. Most insurance companies pay a significant portion of the total bill, usually 50 to 100 percent, depending on the plan. All other CompleteLife services are provided free of charge for IU Simon Cancer Center patients.
Prior to scheduling, we can check your insurance benefits to ensure that Dr. Johns and Dr. Doebbeling are approved providers. If they do not participate within your insurance network, you may choose to meet with them and be responsible for full payment or out of network benefits depending on your insurance company. Alternatively, we can refer you to other providers and you may contact your insurance company to find out if you are approved to see another provider. We recommend that you clarify your mental health benefits with your insurance company. If you do not have insurance, you may apply for financial assistance. Arrangements can also be made for payment plans.
Report preparation, review of medical records, and report evaluation (e.g. legal or clinical documentation) are available as billable services. We do not offer extended phone therapy or telephone evaluation services. Brief questions can be confidentially relayed to our program coordinator who will collect the information from the appropriate service provider and return their response at no charge. If a more complex telephone dialogue is required, Dr. Doebbeling and Dr. Johns offer brief telephone contact as a billable service.

We ask all patients to respect our 24 hour cancellation policy. Please contact our program coordinator at (317) 278-6663 to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hour notice due to an emergency, please inform our coordinator of the reason for missing your appointment. You will be at risk for being billed for a no-show appointment if you do not communicate with us.
