CompleteLife Mastectomy Fitting

After having breast surgery, you may have body image concerns about breast balance and symmetry. Breast forms, also called breast prostheses, are available after surgery and for transition prior to reconstruction. If you do not pursue reconstruction, breast forms may be used as a permanent profile with periodic refittings to address natural appearance changes over the lifespan.

Karen Kreutzinger, RNC, is a nurse clinician and certified mastectomy fitter. Karen is professionally trained to fit post-surgical undergarments, bras, and prostheses. She is available to help you choose which products you may need after surgery. She is knowledgeable about products and services that can enhance your personal appearance and make you more comfortable. Post-surgical camisoles, compression and comfort bras, fashionable bras that accommodate the breast forms, balance symmetry shapers, and swim forms are some of the products to consider. Kreutzinger is available to meet with you in private as part of your oncology clinic outpatient visits.

Kreutzinger’s services for cancer patients are available through IU Health Women’s Services and Expressions, A Store for Women. For more information or to schedule fitting services, call her at (317) 274-9800 or Expressions at IU Health North at (317) 688-2821, or notify your nurse or doctor. Most insurance plans are accepted.
