Breast Care & Research Center

The IU Breast Care and Research Center, affilliated with the IU Simon Cancer Center, provides women with any type of breast problem, from breast pain to malignancy, comprehensive diagnostic services, specialty consultations and multidisciplinary treatment planning in a single visit.

An individual’s cancer care is carefully planned according to the most current recommendations. Eligible patients also have access to innovative clinical trials. We believe in approaches to treatment that are both conservative and state-of-the-art. So when it’s appropriate, we emphasize breast preservation, non-surgical biopsies, and surgical techniques that spare the nerves to the arms and back.

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Tissue Bank at IU Simon Cancer Center is the first and only healthy breast tissue bank in the world. By using samples from women without breast cancer, researchers will be able to determine the differences between these populations, which will lead to a better understanding of the disease. To learn more, visit the Komen Tissue Bank.
