Gastrointestinal Cancer Program

The Gastrointestinal Cancer Program of the IU Simon Cancer Center offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to patients with stomach and intestinal (gastrointestinal) cancers, including cancers of the colon and rectum, anus, appendix, bile duct, esophagus, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, small instestine and stomach, as well as gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors and gastrointestinal stroma tumors (GIST).

Our team is composed of specialists in medical oncology, gastrointerestinal surgery, radiation oncology, genetics, dietetics, psychology and nursing who work together to develop individualized treatment plans for each patient. Ranked number 11 in the nation in 2007 by U.S. News & World Report, the Indiana University gastroenterology program is renowned for treatment and research of diseases of the digestive tract.
