National Cancer Institute
The National Cancer Institute coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.

Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Inc
Non-Profit organization founded by Kathleen A. Casey in memory of her eight year old son, Barrett "Bear" Krupa, who died after a courageous five and a half year battle with Wilms Tumor. The Foundation is dedicated to the fight against pediatric cancer by improving the quality of life for pediatric cancer patients and their families while furthering advancements in research. E-mail
Pediatric Oncology Resource Center
A web site for parents, friends, and families of children who have or had childhood cancer. This resource center was created by and for people who know young people who are recovering from cancer. Most of the contributors to this site are members of the ACOR pediatric cancer mailing lists, especially ped-onc, ped-onc-survivors, and ALL-kids.

Financial Assistance for Cancer Care
Cancer Survivors Fund
A non-profit organization whose mission is to provide college scholarships and medical expense assistance for the benefit of persons diagnosed with cancer, receiving treatment for cancer or in remission to give them a new purpose and meaning in life. Children's Special Health Care Services
This primary/supplemental insurance program helps defer the medical costs of children with specific chronic medical conditions such as cancer, sickle cell anemia, and hemophilia. There are also financial guidelines, but the income guidelines are more lenient than other programs. There is a CSHCS office located within Riley Hospital, on the 1st floor across from the Raggedy Man Gift Shop.

National Wilms' Tumor Study Group (USA)
A national collaborative group currently conducting a Late Effects Study (LATE) designed to identify treatment related conditions that may develop in participants who were originally treated on one of our five clinical trials. The site includes a detailed bibliography, FAQ and patient information.
Beyond the Cure: National Children's Cancer Society Survivor Website
Provides information pertaining to all areas of the survivor's life. The Late Effects Assessment allows you to build an assessment of late-effects specific to your diagnosis and treatment.

Cancer Scholarships (FinAid: The Smart Student Guide to Financial Aid)
Provides information about scholarships for cancer patients, cancer survivors, children of a cancer patient or survivor, students who lost a parent to cancer, and students pursuing careers in cancer treatment.

Oncology Nursing Society Scholarships
Since 1982, the Foundation has distributed more than $14 million in research grants, research fellowships, academic scholarships, lectures, public education projects, career development awards, and congress scholarships. Also, the Indiana Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses (IAPON) offers a yearly scholarship; be sure to check early in your senior year of high school for the application.
