Funding Opportunities

Pilot Projects

Cancer Prevention & Control

The IU Simon Cancer Center (IUSCC) invites proposals for pilot projects in Cancer Prevention & Control (CPC) that address any of the three program aims:

  1. Prevention
  2. Early detection
  3. Survivorship

Preference will be given to proposals that have a co-investigator from another program within the IUSCC. Investigators with proposals that involve a collaboration with the School of Public Health or the Regenstrief Institute are highly encouraged to apply.

Funding will be allocated from the IUSCC using the ITRAC project management process and will be allocated based on need. Projects with interprogrammatic collaborative teams are strongly encouraged. Applicants must be a member of the Cancer Prevention & Control research program, and the funds cannot be used for fellowship or training purposes. Priority will be given to new investigators. Applicants may have received prior or current extramural research funding, but the proposed project must be separate from previous/current funded projects and lead to a new area of fundable research.

Anticipated frequency of funding announcements: Once per year
