Funding Opportunities

Pilot Projects

Basic Science

The IU Simon Cancer Center will release a call for basic science cancer research pilot projects on a yearly basis.

Funding will be allocated from the IU Simon Cancer Center using the ITRAC project management process and will be allocated based on need (approximately $50,000 per project).  The IUSCC is particularly interested in receiving applications from investigators who, with this additional support, are likely to obtain extramural peer-reviewed funding. Projects with interprogrammatic collaborative teams are strongly encouraged. Applicants must be IU Simon Cancer Center full or associate members, and the funds cannot be used for fellowship or training purposes. Applicants may have received prior or current extramural research funding, but the proposed project should clearly be separate from previous/current funded projects.

Anticipated frequency of funding announcements: Once per year
