My laboratory is focused on what’s the regulatory role of tumor micronenvironment on development of drug resistance and metastasis. Base on our pre-clinical findings, we also conduct pre-clinical testing of novel combinatorial therapies to overcome drug resistance and prevent tumor metastasis. I received MD degree and Ph.D in cancer biology and molecular cancer therapeutics. My research training as a postdoc fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center was focused on breast cancer drug resistance and metastasis, particular HER2+ breast cancer. I have special expertise in studying Src signaling and pre-clinical testing different novel combinatorial therapeutics. I also participated the DoD Center of Excellence project on studying breast cancer brain metastasis. Through this highly collaborative project, I have mastered the in vivo models for drug resistance, metastasis and unique techniques in mentoring blood-brain-barrier using animal models.
