Design and investigation of new DNA- and RNA-targeted compounds with biological activities. Study of fundamental drug-DNA molecular recognition strategies. Elucidation of the mechanism of anti-cancer drug action, e.g., the bleomycins. Mechanisms of oxidative DNA damage. Development of new imaging strategies based on bioconjugated quantum dot technologies.
