Experimental & Developmental Therapeutics
The Experimental and Developmental Therapeutics (EDT) Program is a highly translational program with members from numerous departments of the IU School of Medicine, IUPUI, and IU Bloomington campuses. The program facilitaties collaboration across departments with regular program meetings (third Tuesday of every month), seminars, and pilot projects.
The EDT Program has six thematic areas and four goals:
- Biomarker identification and novel prevention strategies
- Molecular targets and drug discovery
- Therapeutic optimization
Themes:
- Identify markers and mechanisms of carcinogenesis to more effectively diagnose and prevent cancer.
- Facilitate the discovery of new targets and the development of therapies that will be more effective and less toxic in the prevention and treatment of cancer.
- Effectively design and perform preclinical studies to validate new rationally targeted therapies.
- Facilitate the conduct of novel and innovative clinical trials that compliment and support the scientific strengths of EDT members.
